The Broadway Touch: How Costumes, Lighting, and Music Transform a Magic Show

When most people think of magic, they picture cards, coins, maybe a rabbit in a hat.
But for me, magic isn’t just about the tricks- it’s about the experience.
And that’s where the Broadway touch comes in.
My background is in musical theater, so when I stepped into the world of magic and bubble artistry, I brought the stage with me. Costumes, lighting, and music aren’t extras- they’re essential ingredients that turn a magic show into something unforgettable.

Costumes: More Than Sparkle
When I walk out in a sequined gown, I’m not just dressed up. I’m inviting the audience into another world. Costumes tell a story before I ever open my mouth. They whisper, “Something special is about to happen.” My sparkly gown sets the scene and creates the vibe.
A tailored suit can be sharp, sure, but a shimmering gown or a velvet cloak instantly changes the energy in the room. It signals that we’re not in everyday life anymore- we’re in a space where magic is possible (and things are about to be ✨extra✨)
Lighting: The Secret Co-Star
Lighting is one of those things you don’t always notice until it’s missing. The right lighting doesn’t just illuminate- it directs attention, builds atmosphere, and turns a trick into a theatrical moment.
Think of neon bubbles glowing under blacklight, or a spotlight chasing a floating object across the stage. Light paints the air. It heightens the mystery and makes the impossible feel like it belongs right there in front of your eyes. It illumunates what should be seen and darkens what shouldn't be seen.

Music: The Pulse of the Show
Music has always been my first love. It sets rhythm, it sets tone- it’s the heartbeat of every performance I do.
A swell of strings can turn a simple reveal into goosebumps. A familiar melody can invoke a memory of nostalgia or a playful melody can turn audience participation into comedy gold. Sometimes it’s not even the music itself, but the silence in between that makes the moment land. Music connects people in a way that words can’t, and in magic, it amplifies wonder.
Where Theater Meets Illusion
When costumes, lighting, and music come together, the tricks become more than tricks. They become theater. That’s what I strive for in every show I create- a space where people aren’t just watching magic, they’re feeling it. If I didn't evoke a feeling, it wasn't a good show.
At the end of the night, the audience might not remember every single effect, but they’ll remember the mood, the laughter, the goosebumps, the sparkle. That’s the Broadway touch-and that’s what makes a magic show unforgettable.
